Played a game of 40k using blue tacked together Chaos Space Marines. Went very well actually! Must paint these boys. Borrowed Ben’s digital camera to take site photos. Must do that sharpish. Casting HA bricks as usual. Think I have enough to make a 1′ city wall section.

Painted and have started base detailing my HA ruined foundations. Wondering what I should build next from the HA blocks. I’m kind of thinking about a ruined/modular city wall section with half towers. That would be a hell of a lot of work. Either that or an MDF based ‘raised block’ for a bit of variation on the MH tabletop. That would probably be a bit simpler. Not entirely happy with the paint job on the first batch of bricks and I should really have used a jig of some sort to keep the walls straight. Ah well, lessons learned. Picked up three PlagueBearers for 40k today as well. My absolute last purchase before the GW Asia Pacific price hike.

Casting like a mad monkey. First HA based building almost together. Patching gaps is easy with a toothbrush and a little DAS. Wet water technique also seems to work quite well to reduce bubbles. The test pot of ‘warm neutral’ I scrounged from the house is also an excellent sandstone colour. Wonder if I can get away with toothbrushing some FAS burnt umber on to get away with a quick paint job? Think maybe I should make a few ruined/burnt out foundations to complement the completed buildings I already have?

Hirst Arts molds arrived! Bruce Hirst’s work is fantastic and the molds are top quality, I can wholeheartedly recommend them despite the cost in NZ$. Stopping plaster seems ok but may not sturdy enough in the long run? Hard to say.

Ordered three Hirst Arts molds (all available fieldstone molds) and joined the HA ezboard forum. Hopefully these molds arrive soon as I’m itching to get cracking on some decent Mordheim house foundations.

Built MH guillotine. Patched and texture painted one side of MH tower. Finished basic Orc warband. Cast four barrels + eight boxes. Grabbed some more $5 foamcard from Stationary Warehouse. Got a nice piece of rimu doweling for 40k building columns.

Two more Orc arms finished. Orc Hero almost done.
