Mordheim Posters

PVAd some Earl Grey tea soaked photocopy reduced ‘back of Town Cryer’ posters to walls and fences around my Mordheim scenery. Worked quite well and add a bit of character. The tea soaking is to ‘age’ the photocopied posters…that also worked quite well. Possibly could soak them for quite a bit longer to get a real brown sepia tone to them. Placed the Undead aside momentarily and will focus on getting those last Orcs and Goblins sorted out for the next Campaign. Also started re-painting Ben’s building - it’s really just the floors / window frames that need to be painted. Applied a bit of red wash to the very pink walls to try de-pinking them a bit, so they’re more of a terracotta colour now. Must finish cut-n-paste Mordheim campaign map tonight.

Fieldstone Belltower

Fieldstone Belltower Belltower structure finished and started painting it. Putting together more Zombies. Did about 10 mold casts over the weekend, now using the ‘cd cover’ method and after a false start seems to work nicely. Have more than enough casts of the 4″ tower mold. Thinking of putting together a Mordheim windmill with balsa / paper sails and maybe external stairways. Started resurrecting Ben’s nice ruin as I didn’t realise it was only blue tacked together - lick of paint and it should be good to go. Photocopied a lot of source material while at my wife’s work. Must draw Turf War campaign map.

Mordheim Troll

Scrubbed Undead warband sprues and patched with green stuff. Belltower slowly progressing. Played a few experimental games against Griff. Troll is definitely not worth it in a starting warband. But then he’s so expensive how would you ever save up 200gc after you’d started! Griff going with Skaven and Emily the Undead.

Mordheim Undead Warband

Finished guillotine. Finished pallisade fence. Put together Undead warband (except Zombies) for MH. Started constructing ruined fieldstone belltower from Hirst Arts bricks. Must do more casting! Must purchase mini-level as well as would make life considerably easier. Building belltower in sub-parts and then glueing the larger parts together. Seems to be the way to go. Also using PVA and actually seems to form a better bond than craft glue. Does take a lot longer to dry of course.

CD Cover Method

Hirst Arts house finished and varnished. Started painting city wall section and considered plans for gateway. Will require quite a few bricks so will have to do some more casting - must try ‘cd cover’ method to smooth bricks. Threw together another 6″ pallisade fence section for Mordheim and started painting and preparing guillotine.

1980’s IG

Resin cast a bunch more stuff. Some problems with mold deforming? But it was pretty cold last night. Hard to say how many more decent casts I’ll get but I only need a handful of the first mold anyway. Stripped some IG and started putting them back together as Heavy Weapons troopers. Salvaged a couple of my old 1980’s metal Heavy Weapons guys as well. Finally based the first Sentinel. A touch of paint and some ’shrubbery’ and it should be finished.
