Oops, Griff informs me that Brent has succumbed to that horrid illness that is going around. I suspect the siege scenario might be postponed. I can’t really complain mind you as the last attempt was postponed because I was sick!

Ah well, give me some time to pour the tower builder mold tonight.

Put together the 4″ x 3″ high master for the tower builder mold. Didn’t quite get a chance to pour the mold unfortunately. Maybe later in the week. The idea here is the central void is filled either with an ‘arrow slit’ block set from the Hirst Arts fieldstone #71 accessory mold, or a very narrow doorway from the normal #70 fieldstone mold – which are both pictured under the master:

Put together a couple more shrubs from those plastic aquarium plants as well.

Well, I’ve cast enough pieces to build the first tower base. So tonight I need to put together a master to mold for the upper parts of the towers. At any rate I have enough city wall ready for the siege game on Monday night.

Picked up 1L of Fuller Max Bond (hmmm sounds like a PS2 game) PVA from Mitre10. Put together the rest of the Mordheim/WHFB City Gate. Due to measuring issues I had to do a fair bit of filing to get it all together.

Argh. Turns out I left my wallet at home! Just as well I carry about $12 of change around with me most of the time otherwise I’d be rather hungry about now. Still buying more glue will have to wait…

My son’s first birthday too today BTW. But you can probably figure that out from the ‘on this day’ link on the last post!

Nuts! I ran out of PVA and aliphatic wood glue last night so didn’t manage to make any more progress building city walls. Must pick some up today from the French Art store just underneath the office. I did get some casting done. One more wall builder cast and I have enough pieces to build all four walls. Then it’s onto casting for the towers!

For the towers I plan to make another mold. Possibly a 4″ by 3″ high wall section with an empty ‘window’ in the middle. This window will be used to hold doorways for two sides of each tower and arrow slits for the other two sides. Also wondering how I’m going to go about building the parapets.

Another couple of weeks of casting and glueing and I suspect I’ll have a complete, seigeable fortress. This whole process has been a lot quicker than I expected I must say.

Made some progress on the Mordheim/WHFB Gate House last night. I can definitely get this playable by the weekend so it’s all on Brent! I really must read the Siege rules as well.

I’m short a few arches and various other pieces so I’ll need a few more misc casts to finish this up. I’m looking forward to painting this lot. Reckon they’ll look pretty good once completed.
