Guess we know which OS runs Kiwi Bank ATMs. Walked past this machine on K’Rd this morning. So much for 24/7 service…

Primed all 6 Dire Wolves and have started drybrushing them in the usual manner. Should be able to get them all cranked pretty quickly. Made two ‘skull’ press molds for detailing the Death Knights. Painted the fortress gate to a playable level.

Finally got around to constructing a simple removable gate for the fortress from balsa and foam card. Hope to have it painted by tomorrow night as Brent’s coming around for a siege game.

Perverted the first Brettonian knight to the Vampire Count’s cause. Head swapped him with the classic GW ‘open mouthed dead head’. Cut and filed a few Bretonnian Fleur-de-Lis off. Press molded a WH40k Imperial Guard tank insignia to get a nice small skull to texture stamp over the shields which appear on the horse’s barding. Also attacked the barding with a knife and drill bit to make it more tattered. Will paint them in the same scheme as my existing Grave Guard and hopefully they’ll blend in with the army.

Also broke out the partially painted Cadian Imperial Guard to see how much work it would take to put together a Cadian Kill Team.

Just ordered a small set of Linka molds. Specicfically B1, B2, B4 and R1. These are 1:76-1:72 scale which is pretty close to 15mm I believe. Be handy for Flames of War terrain and well as small brick details in other 28mm scenery. I’m also considering building a train station for my father-in-law as he collects Hornby Dublo trains. Hornby Dublo is OO (get it? Dubl-O!) scale or 1:76…which would be just right for Linka molds.

The US dollar is still tanking so might as well get in while the exchange rate is good! All up the order cost me $45US or around $62NZ. Of which most was generated by some TradeMe sales I made a while back. It seems I only spent $10NZ in November on modelling stuff. This will probably be the only purchase I make this month as well.

The latest Black Gobbo has some better pictures of the Ogre Kingdom’s plastic ‘Bull Ogre’ sprues. I’d still like a single sprue of these guys for Mordheim!

Painted and varnished the first hoarding for the Mordheim city wall. This simple foam-card and balsa piece is removeable and is intended to provide a bit of extra cover when the city wall pieces are used in a game of Mordheim. It’s quite tall compared to the fortress towers – however I also intend to build some ‘L’ shaped hoardings for the tower ramparts as well at some point.

Those fine gargoyles are available from Freebooter Miniatures and are very nice little sculpts.

Picked up a Mordheim Mounted Highwayman figure from TradeMe for $10NZ. It must have been a mis-pack because the unopened blister contained the mounted figure only.
