I love this ship you are building and the paintwork (simple but effective).

You mentioned you are using Resene house paints to paint the ship. I have been considering using house paint for some terrain I am using.

Do you find you have to thin the paints in anyway to avoid obscuring detail? Or are they just fine applied straight out of the tin?

Thanks for any comments.

Thanks for the compliments! The Mordheim table has seen a few games now so I'm really keen to get it finished. This ship has been something of an exercise in avoiding detailing that canal though...now it's nearing completion I really have no more excuses!

Good luck with the Hirst Arts molds. They're incredibly useful and the only real trick to creating great looking, long lasting terrain with them is to make sure you use a quality hard plaster for the pieces, like Ultracal 30 or Hydrostone.

Wow! That's an awesome ship! I really like your paint scheme. I read your blog every week and I must say you make some wonderful stuff. I get lots of inspiration from your projects. I started with HirstArt Blocks a few months ago and I recently started building scenery. I also started a Mordheim board. I can't wait to see yours completed!

Cheers!
