Undead Approach Bridge Undead Approach Bridge Undead Approach Bridge
The Mordheim table is seeing a lot of gaming recently…and every time I play on it my desire to finish the whole thing ratchets up another notch. Reiklanders versus Undead last night playing the ‘What’s Yours is Mine’ scenario by Pancreas Boy. There was a clash on the central bridge featuring discharging a blunderbuss, lots of ineffective archer fire and some evil magicks. The Reiklanders prevailed only because of some terrible dice rolling on the part of the Undead which was unusual because I’m a legend for crappy dice rolling! It’s always a bit demoralising though when the dice seem to be against you…

These shots were taken using a nice folding mini-tripod I picked up from TradeMe last week. The tripod makes it ridiculously easy to take non-blurry ‘eye level’ shots of the action – particularly beause my table is raised about 3′ on foam blocks.

  1. Dice rolling against you did you say?
Hmmmm not sure I know what that feels like?

  2. Those are some damn fine shots! Yeah I find it bloody annoying that my digicam has super-duper manual control right down to 15-second exposure times, yet anything shot in low-light comes out blurry due to hand shakeyness. A tripod you say?

And that table is looking very fine. Inspiring even. The Sisters of No Mercy might have to cleanse that township some time in the future…

  3. Some lovely shots of a great gaming table. I’d love to have a game on that scenery. It’s all come together really well looking at these shot. Nice to see the results from your earlier modelmaking bits ‘n’ bobs.
    Well done.
    Steve.

  4. Just wanted to say (no disrespect to the pictures) that I had the pleasure of using that table last week and in person it looks even more impressive.
I was blown away, great individual pieces & the overall effect was brilliant.
Not to mention good fun to play on, altho a little nerve wracking with my clumsy great ogre hands!

  5. Heh, you know the most terrible thing? Small voices in my head tell me some of that terrain is actually looking a little shoddy now and in dire need of replacing :). I shall however ignore the voices until such time that I find I have finished the table and all the other outstanding projects – whenever that may be.

  6. :-) Nice Table is that the cannel that Pirate Wench was giving advice on ?

  7. Nice to see some of my scenarios are being used.

Very nice scenery guys there!!! is the Hirst Arts?

I’m very jealous and inspired at the same time!!!

  8. Mr PancreasBoy! Nice to see you on here :)…and I must say they’re damned fine scenarios too! Have you written any more recently?

Yeap all the Mordheim scenery I own is built from Hirst Arts pieces. Been using the molds for about 3 years now and must say I can’t recommend them enough.

  9. Your’ table is fantastic and very inspiring. So much so that I am ‘borrowing’ your idea for a town square statue of a rider on a horse for my own table. I am very curious how you gave the statue (which can just be glimpsed in these pics) the green aged patina. It’s striking and very authentic.

    Well done!
    Allan.
