Old Crow Models make a number of interesting looking sci-fi 15mm vehicles for some game system I’m unfamiliar with. However what really grabbed me was their 15mm pipe sections.
I wonder how good these pieces would look as ducting for 28mm terrain?

The Old Crow vehicles are pretty much generic, fit for any sci-fi game system. Talk has been that they would go well with Laserburn or Striker, but I’ve been using them for Stargrunt in 15mm. The castings are clean and the sculpts are beautiful, and I probably will be getting more soon.
They’re certainly very clean sculpts and look very nice. Ideal for any of the Battletech style games as general transports and afvs.
To be honest I’m a bit of a GW fanboy as you can probably tell from this blog. It’s in the last year or two I’ve started looking at alternate systems (Flames of War mainly) given the ludicrous expense involved in collecting GW these days.
I’d never heard of Stargrunt until a visitor added it to the sidebar poll. How does it play compared to say 40k?
I ordered with Old Crow on Nov 24th after seeing your article here - haven´t heard from then since. Neither a “yes, we received your order” nor “yes, we received your paypal payment” - nothing.
Hi Harald, that’s unfortunate…they were pretty responsive when I emailed them a question…coming back within 2-3 days with an answer. Have you fired them another email?
Personally I usually avoid ordering stuff in the month of December because I live in New Zealand, so most sites I order from are going to airmail me the goods and in my experience the postal service is generally a bit overloaded at this time of year. Also postal theft seems to increase near Xmas too.
everything arrived today (had a notice from Jez of OldCrow last week)
Very nice models, I´ve ordered some of the Pipe stuff (a bit small for 28mm), Jerry Cans (good) and fuel barrels (a bit small for 28mm)
Overall very satisfied - I´ll use the Pipe stuff on some of my 40k channels
Top stuff Harald! Any chance of some photos of 28mm minis next to the pipelines online anywhere? I’m curious to see how they compare, err without actually spending any money!
finally I came around to take a pic:

it´s a ok-size, not as a main pipe, but for “decoration” it should be fine.
we are involved in a “full size” project right now (bought a house), so all terrain-work is suspended for the time being
