Heh my thoughts exactly Aaron.

Terrain I find less interesting myself as there's plenty of 15mm scale stuff out in the market already and by the time they release it I will have hopefully finished my North African table anyway. But I'll reserve judgement until I see the terrain I guess!

Its times like this I wonder why I persist with other games/companies.

As you say I think a lot of people will still go out and buy the rules but its great to be able to get a free upgrade. Very sporting.

I've always liked the idea of a "battlefield in a box" but I think the big problem they will face with it is cost. Its one thing to shell out $300 for an army in a box but it seems more extravagant to do the same with terrain.

It is pretty good news.

I'm especially releived to see that all the current army books will be compiled into a single Mid-war book. Its one of the major critiques of the game and it really does get to be a bit of a PITA at tournaments when you don't have access to all the rules for an opposing army.

As well the idea of terrain boxes is of interest to me since I can never get enough terrain.

Thanks for the comments about the site. Traffic has been growing through the roof lately and I'll be moving to a dedicated server and perhaps adding some contributing editors to the site as well.

Interested in writing some news adn reviews? ;-)

Heh. It's pretty big news for Flames of War players!

I'm pleased by their approach to the 2nd Ed rules, although I can't see how it can hurt them. If the content in the hardback rulebook is suitably compelling most die-hard FOW players will end up purchasing a copy anyway. I do admire them though because it's just such an emminently sensible approach that respects you as a player and thus Battlefront actually seem like a company that cares about customer goodwill.

I like your blog...it's very handy for the news with a clean 'just the facts m'am' approach and you cover a wide range of games and products I've never heard of/played. Whereas I tend to waffle on about a very small subset of games that I play regularly...
