Pretty cool tut. A nice way to finish these off is with medical gauss. you wrap the base of the tree with it, and the apply white glue with a little paint mixed in. Then you can use little rings of wire on top of that to give the breaks in palm trees. them paint the whole thing and wah’laa. I like your idea of the leaves though, will have to do that sometime.

Heh, same technique doesn’t really apply to normal wire trees alas. Normal wire trees are a LOT more tedious to make.

I saw them last week and made a mental note of how you might have made them – then realised that there probably weren’t too many Palm Trees in and around Stalingrad…
