As I already have a modest range of 15mm trench pieces and some related buildings I’ve been meaning to try my hand at mastering some 15mm scale bunkers for a while now.
So I was interested to see a post on the Flames of War forum that mention the Orbat.com site which includes plans of various single and multiple MG bunkers in Belgium.
It’s also the first time I’ve heard of the ‘grenade gulleys’ built into the bunkers to roll out grenades at the wall bases.

Ahhh this is a fantastic plan, as it’ll save me $150 (I’ve seen BFs December catalogue) and it contains a large Normandy Beach set with cragons teeth, bunkers etc etc so if you could just make a whole gaggle up that’d be great, But if you need some help let me see what I can come up with :P
Well, to be honest I wouldn’t hold your breath…I’m notoriously slack when it comes to creating masters. Look at the 15mm building facades I’ve had 1/3rd completed for about 6 months now!
The other difficulty with bunkers is you’d want to make a one piece pit style mold…but creating the windows could be interesting then!
Thats what I was thinking, theres lots of niggly bits trust the Jerries to make something nigh on impossible to re-create in 1:100, but I shall get out my balsa wood and bits and see what I can come up with also I’ve hopefully created a way to make dragons teeth so that they’re all the same size….

How come you get to see all the cool stuff?
Regarding the grenade troughs – back in my day we were taught to dig “grenade sumps” in the bottom of our fighting holes. A grenade could be rolled into it an most of the blast absorbed or directed straight up. Or so the theory went.
Sorry I’ve been scarce – I’ve been traveling non stop!
Hmm Jonathan, did you not see the Churchill ARV, the Sherman Crab, The Commandos in berets or the Battlefield in a box Normandy set???
I think Daniel will be WALKING next Tuesday….. hehehehehe
