I wonder, aside from making plastic rod what use this could be put to. I wonder if it could be kept hot enough for long enough to cast something

Don't see why not to be honest. You'd need a mold that could stand 120 centigrade molten plastic, but surely you could just clamp it onto the nozzle and 'extrude' through the mold if you had exit ports. Have to be carefully molded though to avoid air bubbles etc.

True... I wonder what happens if I fill one of my push molds (heat resistant sealy's kneadit) with chunks of spure and hit it with a hot air gun...

Hmmm...

I think I am going to need a bucket of water and a carbon filter mask =D and 111 on speed dial >=]
