with Callum (7) and a neighbourhood friend (also 7). They had a great time and the other kid picked up the rules in no time. I refereed and prompted for dice rolls etc. Can't recommend Song of Blades and Heroes enough for teaching kids wargaming. All you need is 2'x2' terrain, some D6, 3-4 figures each and a ruler (or print out one of the many 'SoBH game rulers' that people publish on PDF, which also contain the rules). Game is short and sweet with just enough detail to allow for some tactical play (plus there are 'group' rules for later on). Half an hour is enough to get a game in, which nicely equates to a 7 year old's attention span.
