Scrunched up sheet sprayed blue would probably work fine. I was thinking of this sort of effect (see the first photo here):

So frozen pack ice for the table with large icebergs for actual game terrain.

Would your average warship be able to sale through that?

I would be thinking something more like this with a bit more water...

Yeah that's nice too, although I have to admit I'm pretty lazy. So if I can scrunch up a white sheet a few times and hit it with some cheap blue spray I'll be happy however it turns out Wink

I do have to question why I'm worried about being able to sail through ice pack in our toy warships in the alternative steam punk/victoriana setting...  The ability to sail through sea ice... yep that is where I draw the line between fantasy and reality...    Roll Eyes

Edit: Dammit spelt sail as sale...  Embarrassed

I didn't like to say anything to be honest Smiley. Hell my big CoA ships even have 'Ice Engines' apparently which means they can go 3" in reverse and it counts as a RAM if you run into their stern. I honestly cannot think of a single use for that improvement myself, unless I start backing my Battleship towards you maybe.
