New job AND a promotion (I assume that means more of the cold crisp stuff). Nice one Aaron. That must be a helluva load off your mind. I'll sip some port tonight in quiet celebration Wink.

New location? More/less of a commute?

Yeah I am so relieved.  Kristina couldn't stop crying when I went home to tell her she was just so relieved.  You dont always realise just how stressed you are until it suddenly lifts!

I'm awaiting the contract offer to confirm the details but its a more strategic role looking at big picture finance questions rather than specific loan requests and yes should be more $$.

The price I'm paying is that I'm based in the city again so my daily commute has increased a lot and that will be a bit tricky with kids and Kristinas work but we'll have to work through it.

Yeah congrats dude! Strategic financial sounds intriguing. Sounds like you're moving up in the world. I imagine a large underground bunker with a 'war room' is involved. Something like this:

Commuting into the city might not be too horrid. People keep telling me good things about the trains. Are you anywhere near a station?

I'll share more details once I've got a bit more detail but yes I'm quite excited.  Its a newly created role so my first task is to work out what we are going to do and how.

I used to train to work a few years ago and I always enjoyed the travel (plenty of reading time!) its just the extra time as the kids will be in bed when I get home.  Still the other gaming Stu recently started working in the city so maybe I'll be able to get him playing MTG on lunch breaks and then it'll be just like old times but with a a new-Stu.   Grin

Sorry Stu, I thought you worked in ellerslie or somewhere around there.  Are you back in the city?

The rant was highly amusing.  Grin
