Yeah I've got a fair few scraps of DOW blue laying around. I was thinking of making some nice islands too, but fuck it icebergs are easy to cut and paint Smiley. Any thoughts about size/shape? Do you have a hotwire cutter or do you want me to cut some blanks. To be honest I wouldn't actually mind making some 'Pacific' style islands. Wonder how you could do palm trees at that scale Smiley.

My wife sews, but she's going batshit crazy trying to sew some costumes for Callum's J Rock show next week, so might not be the best time.

I'm tempted to get a big slab of thin MDF to dump down on my gaming table and just nail that with some sponge stippled cheap blue housepaint, followed by a top coat of cheap varnish for shine. I've seen some nice tables on the interwebs just done that way for DW. Although yeah, something you could roll up would be a lot handier. I also considered buying some blue material and hitting it with a solution of bleach, sponged on again.

Hey why not. I figure the islands don't have to be too large either. I've only got two large icebergs which equate to Aaron's felt islands in size, and a bunch of little linear scrap icebergs. What flavour of islands are we thinking about?

When Aaron says 'tropical' I'm assuming Pacific style coral atolls. The sort that became famous in WWII, Midway or Wake Island for example. That way you could make landing strips on them too! And maybe leave spaces ready for your Dystopian War bunkers (I do lust after that terrain from Spartan Games, but can't really justify buying it).

I was thinking pacific style, but who knows....  If I've two north European fleets, maybe I should do some jagged north sea granite islands....

Yeah granite cliffs would be easy too. Cut DOW blue, press with wood chips (to get more rocky texture). Paint dark gray, drybrush lighter, or optionally try spackling with white to get a granite look. Flock the top Smiley. Almost as easy as icebergs.

<sssssh.  Secret....>   Grin

I personally was thinking pacific/indo-micronesia islands which sort of gels with the FSA.

I like the felt for convenience but given my secret order I feel I'd be letting it down a bit to pop them down on felt... I dont have a hot wire cutter so if you could roughly shape some scraps that would be great.  Considering my desert table is built from your scraps they go a long way!

I'll check with the missus for Wednesday night. I could go some more DW. That would also compel me to finish the Battleship before Wednesday.

It was good to be war gaming again I concur. Although now I'm afraid Jonathan is going to be attempting to collide with my ships...

So to expedite things I'll re-make a list. What points values? 500? Three player?

I got the industrial dockyard & a set of weapons platforms.
The weapon platforms comes with 2 towers but several sets of weapons so I'm hoping there may be some way to build them into the terrain rather than just using them as swapable weapons.

I'm not really sure about points.  Either keep the small game but 3 player or go slightly more points with 2 commanders on one side.

To be honest that would probably work best as I'd still need to keep an eye on wife/kids.
Maybe I could take command of the air brigade of one side.

Speaking of Air-brigade, Jonathan do you actually want the imperial air fortress you got for the prussians?  If you dont I was wondering if that could form a part trade in favour of our new order?
