Modelling - Guillotine
Started: 9 Feb 2003
Completed: 18 Apr 2003
Measurements: A roughly 6" guillotine on a 4"x4" platform.
Material: Balsa wood, a plastic Orc choppa arm (the blade), some ship modelling brass eyehooks, a fantasy plastic skeleton and cast barrels and boxes.
Base: 3mm MDF as usual.
Detail: This is what you get for reading a 'popular history' about the French Revolution I guess. This grisly little piece was largely inspired by a spare WFB Orc Choppa I had left over from my MH Orcs. The flat square blade made me think of a guillotine for some reason and in a fit of balsa construction I threw the basic structure together in an hour. It's really just a 'town square' piece designed to offer a little cover in the middle of empty parts of the tabletop. Much like my Fountain and Statue terrain pieces. There's a couple of barrels and a fantasy skeleton underneath the platform, just to stop those line-of-sight arguments!
