Modelling - Hirst Arts House
Started: 16 Feb 2003
Completed: 16 Apr 2003
Measurements: 9" high on a 6" x 4" base.
Material: Plaster Hirst Art blocks, foam card and balsa wood.
Base: 3mm MDF.
Detail: This work was my first attempt at using my new Hirst Arts fieldstone molds to create Mordheim terrain. It's a ruined half timbered house with a fieldstone foundation. The plaster foundation actually makes the house nice and stable because it's quite heavy. A lot of the bricks have cut out bubbles and patched miscasts because most of them created before I read about the 'wet water' technique described on the Hirst Arts site. The bricks were glued together then sealed with Resene interior acrylic house paint. Gaps were patched with DAS applied vigorously with an old toothbrush.
